PRESCOTT OPRY

Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM

ELKS THEATER 117 GURLEY, PRESCOTT, AZ 86301

As the Prescott Opry begins its third year of performances Nashville recording artist and Prescott Opry Emcee, Ed Gary, has a terrific show planned for your enjoyment in May! There will be guest performances that will take you back to the good old days when you knew all the words to each song, the kind of humor that will tickle your funny bone and a chance to hear not one, but TWO, young performers that are sure to be a hit on the music scene in years to come. You’ll be able to say you saw them at the PRESCOTT OPRY when they make it BIG!

DAN MCCORISON Former MCA Records recording artist, Dan McCorison, got his first guitar at the age of fourteen and cut his teeth on folk music. One invitation to sit in on some Nashville recording sessions and he was hooked on Country music. Dan’s first band, the Dusters toured the western states and Canada and opened for Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Flatt and Scruggs and Linda Ronstadt just to name a few. Reminiscent of the smooth styles of Gene Watson and Don William, Dan's renditions of Sea of Heartbreak and Waltz Across Texas are sure to delight you!

PRESTON HILL Preston Hill, Actor and Comedian, will be with us to surprise and delight our audience. In these days when "Family Friendly" humor is the exception, not the rule, the Opry is proud to welcome a humorist whose act can be enjoyed by everyone from 10 to 100.

NANCY DRAKE AS MISS MINNIE PEARL Nancy Drake, in the persona of Miss Minnie Pearl, with her "good ole country girl" sense of humor also makes a brief return to our stage. So, plan on a rollicking good time at this month's performance!

TIMOTHY & BIX Local young artists "Timothy and Bix" have been friends since childhood, but only recently began performing together. They share a love of music that spans a myriad of musical styles. Some of their influences are Kenny Rogers, Mumford & Sons and Bob Dylan. Both young men are highly skilled on fiddle, guitar, keyboard and mandolin. They also possess amazing vocal harmonies that remind one of a young Phil & Don Everly. Come catch their act before they're off to college!

BRUSH ARBOR REVIVAL Their humorous interplay, their amazing instrumental prowess and their incomparable renditions of classic Bluegrass Gospel make our resident Gospel group some of the best entertainment that Arizona has to offer. You never know what John & Larry are up to next, what shenanigans Peggy must corral, or what sweet vocals Anita has planned for your enjoyment.
