Sharlot Hall Museum To Host The Fourth Annual Prescott Western Heritage Days

PRESCOTT, AZ, The Prescott Western Heritage Foundation, Inc. will be holding its 4th Annual Prescott Western Heritage Days event on Saturday and Sunday, September 14 &15, from 10 AM to 5 PM. This event will celebrate the western heritage of Prescott and Yavapai County from 1864 to present. This yearâs event will be hosted by the Sharlot Hall Museum, in partnership with the Prescott Regulators and their Shady Ladies.

The headliner this year is Belinda Gail, Western Music Associationâs 2012 Female Performer of the Year. In Addition, a Tom Mix Gathering will be held on Saturday the 14, and will feature Mixâs 1937 Cord Phaeton convertible, vintage Tom Mix Films and posters, Tom Mix speakers, a Tom Mix look-alike contest, and more.

Another major attraction again this year will be a large gathering of historical re-enactment groups. Family activities will include unique photo opportunities, re-enactment skits, a period costume contest and Victorian fashion show, cowboy/western, and old time music, cowboy poetry, a mustache contest, and childrenâs activities all day Saturday and Sunday. Participating organizations include the Prescott Regulators & their Shady Ladies, Inc., The Prescott Buscaderos, The AZ Rough Riders, 9th Calvary Buffalo Soldiers, Bill Williamâs Mountain Men, and many others.

Western culture and heritage has deep roots in Prescott, as Arizonaâs 1st Territorial Capitol and home to the famous (and infamous) Whiskey Row. Amateur and professional artists, photographers, videographers, media and tourists will have a one of a kind opportunity to photograph re-enactment groups in period clothing in and around the Sharlot Hall Museum, the Courthouse Plaza, and historic Whiskey Row.

Admission to the event is $ 8.00 per person 18-64 year old, $7 65+ and military (both with valid ID) $5 13- 17 year old Free 0-12 year old. Net proceeds from Prescott Western Heritage Days will benefit Sharlot Hall Museum. For more information, please visit www.prescottwesternheritagedays.com.
