Burn Notice: Thumb Butte Area

PRESCOTT, AZ (March 2, 2010) The Granite Mountain Hotshots are scheduled to burn slash piles at the end of Foothills Dr. off Thumb Butte Rd. starting Wednesday, March 3 at approximately 9 a.m. weather permitting. Smoke will be visible through Thursday and should be clear by the evening.
"This burn is taking place on city open space and reverse 911 is being used to notify home owners in the area," said fire department spokeman, Don Devendorf. "The reason for this burn is to create defensible space for homeowners who live adjacent to this City of Prescott owned property."
