PRESCOTT, June 17, 2010 Wells Fargo will present a $10,000 Encore Sponsorship donation to the Elks Opera House Foundation before the Prescott City Council meeting at 2:45 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, in the Council chambers, 201 S. Cortez St.
The presentation will be made by three Wells Fargo Business Banking managers: Raymond Baer, manager for Greater Arizona; Keith Helmer, manager for Central Arizona; and Jim Johnson, principal relationship manager for Prescott.
"The Elks Opera House is emerging as the crown jewel of the many historic gems that make downtown Prescott such a special destination for residents and visitors," Baer said. "All of us at Wells Fargo are pleased to support the restoration of the Opera House, which will allow this city treasure to continue its long tradition as a unique venue for the performing arts, films and community events."
"It's very pleasing that Wells Fargo recognizes the importance of investing in the Elks Opera House restoration," said Elisabeth Ruffner, founding secretary of the Elks Opera House Foundation and chair of the restoration capital campaign. "Thanks to Wells Fargo and our many other contributors, we're bringing the Elks Opera House back to its original 1905 grandeur."
"Community involvement and helping support economic growth and prosperity are central to Wells Fargo's Vision & Values," Helmer said. "Wells Fargo has a long legacy of community investment. In 2009, our company donated nearly $5 million in Arizona, and our team members volunteered more than 65,000 hours to nonprofits and schools in the state."
