Road construction update: Mt. Vernon/Senator Hwy

MT. VERNON/SENATOR HWY

Grading and excavation of the hillside along Senator Highway will continue throughout the week. Crews will also begin to pour and form concrete footing for the first retaining wall section.

Please be aware of the following impacts:

Monday, June 25 through Friday, June 29, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

While work will occur largely off the roadway, motorists should remain aware of rough road conditions, reduced speeds, lane restrictions and possible flagging operations.

UTILITY UPGRADES CONTINUE ON S MT VERNON AVENUE

Throughout the week, crews will continue to excavate and install sewer line from E Goodwin Street to E Carleton Street and water line from E Gurley Street to E Goodwin Street.

Please be aware of the following impacts:

Monday, June 25 through Friday, June 29, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

S Mt Vernon Avenue is closed to through traffic from E Gurley Street to E Carleton Street, with local access at E Goodwin Street. Please be aware of lane reconfiguration, flagging operations, and traffic stops along the project corridor. No service interruptions are anticipated at this time.

CONCRETE WORK CONTINUES ON S MT VERNON AVENUE

Concrete demolition from E Gurley Street to E Goodwin Street will continue throughout the week. Construction will continue on new sidewalks, as well as curb and gutter, from E Gurley Street to E Goodwin Street.

Please be aware of the following impacts:

S Mt Vernon Avenue is closed to through traffic from E Gurley Street to E Carleton Street, with local access at E Goodwin Street. Please be aware of lane reconfiguration, flagging operations, and traffic stops along the project corridor.

WILLIAMSON VALLEY ROADWAY EXCAVATION AND GRADING CONTINUES

Throughout the week, crews will continue to excavate, backfill and grade the roadway to create a surface suitable for paving along Williamson Valley Road from Standing Rock Drive to Shadow Valley Ranch Road. Crews will reconfigure traffic lanes throughout the day while this work is being performed. Please be aware of the following impacts:

Monday, June 25 through Friday, June 29 from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.

One lane of traffic will remain open in both directions while this work is performed. Motorists may experience delays, frequent lane shifts and traffic stops as construction equipment and personnel move through the work zone. Rough road conditions and narrow lanes may be associated with this work. Motorists are asked to please allow extra time while traveling through the project zone.

RETAINING WALL WORK TO CONTINUE

Crews will continue to pour and form new retaining walls and storm water catch basins adjacent to the roadway during daytime hours throughout the week. Retaining wall work will occur along west side of Williamson Valley Road from Standing Rock Drive to Shadow Valley Ranch Road. Please be aware of the following impacts:
