City announces new outdoor recreation festival

Monday, July 02, 2012

Prescott's Great Outdoors Outdoor Recreation Festival and Expo will be held October 6 and 7 at Watson Lake Park.

This event is designed to highlight the many outdoor and water-based recreational opportunities, organizations, businesses, outfitter guides, equipment, and recreation resources.

The City of Prescott, with the help of Arizona Game & Fish Department, Yavapai College, and many area organizations, are planning the following: the Expo component is designed to expose participants to the latest equipment for enjoying the outdoors. The Festival component, to include a large educational emphasis, is designed to be a family-oriented event with music, food, vendors, clinics and demonstrations, recreational activities, displays, and a fishing clinic.

Outstanding local bands will add to the festival component, with cross promotion with the 34th Annual Folk Music Festival at Sharlot Hall Museum.

Specific (organized) activities will include hikes, rides, kayaking, canoeing, climbing walls, educational clinics, and more.

Sponsorship and outdoor business booth opportunities still exist. Please visit www.cityofprescott.net and Parks and Recreation.

We hope you'll join us for Prescott's Great Outdoors.
