Pavement rehabilitation set for five work zones
Monday, July 30, 2012

The City of Prescott and contractor Asphalt Paving & Supply, Inc. have begun work to repair and replace deteriorated asphalt pavement along sections of S Montezuma Street, Cortez Street, E Gurley Street, Willow Creek Road, and Prescott Lakes Parkway. The project is anticipated to be complete this fall.
Construction activity and work hours will vary along each section of roadway, with work occurring during nighttime and daytime hours to minimize impacts to the community and business owners. This work is highly weather dependent and subject to change.
Work will occur Sunday through Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Montezuma Street and Cortez Street. No more than one block of roadway will be under construction at a time on Cortez Street.
Along Prescott Lakes Parkway and Willow Creek Road, work will occur during normal daytime hours. Initial crack repair work on Prescott Lakes Parkway is complete, with paving work to occur at a later date.
Once complete, the improvements will allow for a smoother, quieter ride that will serve the community well into the future.
GURLEY STREET WORK GEARS UP
Crack repair, asphalt milling, and overlay work will begin on E Gurley Street from S Rush Street to the alley between S Virginia Street and S Mt Vernon Avenue.
Please be aware of the following impacts:
Sunday, July 29 through Wednesday, August 1, 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.
Please be aware of lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, and flagging operations throughout the construction zone as work begins along these streets. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times through these work zones.
