Monday, March 18, 2013

PRESCOTT, AZ (March 18, 2013) - Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) hosted its annual Spring Invitational event at Antelope Hills Golf Course on March 11-12, 2013. Northwood University won the women's team competition and Simpson University came in first in the men's event. ERAU team finished second in both men's and women's categories. ERAU's Kelly Feng placed first in the women's individual class, while ERAU students Ethan Harman and Tyler Harrison shared a four-way tie with students from William Jessop and Simpson universities in the men's individual competition.

ERAU is a new member of the California Pacific Collegiate Conference. This was the first year that the Golden Eagles golf team, coached by Kim Haddow, Ladies Professional Golf Association, hosted schools from other schools for their first annual Spring Invitational.

"We were happy to host ERAU's first Spring Invitational and look forward to the event growing in future years. Kim and Mike Haddow, the golf coaches, have done a fantastic job in only the second year of the golf program. They are already attracting some high caliber junior golfers and have created very competitive teams for both men and women," commented Mack McCarley, the PGA Golf Professional at Antelope Hills.
