Library Volunteer of the Year Jean Isom Honored for 15 Years of Service

Tuesday, April 01, 2014

The City Council honored Jean Isom today for 15 years of volunteer service at the Prescott Public Library as part of a National Library Week proclamation.

Jean was presented the Volunteer of the Year award last month at a luncheon to honor 140 library volunteers who dedicated 15,000 hours of service to the library last year.

This week, the Prescott Public Library joins libraries in schools, campuses and communities nationwide in celebrating National Library Week, a time to highlight the value of libraries, librarians and library workers. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries across the country each April.

Library Director Roger Saft said, "We are extremely fortunate to have such amazing volunteers, like Jean, who give tirelessly to enriching the library and its presence in the community. National Library Week is the time to recognize volunteers, librarians, patrons, and the important role of the library in Prescott."
