    South on Mount Vernon Street, which becomes Senator Highway, about 4 miles to the entrance of the lake. Turn right and park in the designated parking spots only. There is a small parking fee of $2 per car; an annual pass is available.

    Take Route 89 north to Prescott Lakes Parkway. Turn right and cross the bridge. Take the first left, and then another left into the Trail head parking lot. Our premier trail, this was once the rail bed of the Santa Fe Railroad, built in 1893. This 4.5-mile trail passes through the scenic Granite Dells with views of Watson Lake. Hike north as far as you want, then return the same way. Connects to the equally scenic Iron King Trail.

    This 5 acre forest preserve has hiking trails and access to the Butte Creek Trail. Take Gurley Street west until it changes to Thumb Butte Road as you pass a shopping center. After 1/2 mile turn left on Sherwood Drive, just after Hassayampa Village Drive. Proceed to Stricklin Park.

    The 10-Acre park at 1684 Sarafina Drive opened November 11, 2007. This lovely neighborhood park's amenities include a playground, ramada with picnic tables and two bar-b-que grills, park benches, restrooms, walking trails, a scenic bridge and two artificial turf play areas. The artificial turf areas are experimental as they are unique to Prescott. They can be used as play areas for children, bocce ball, croquet and more.

    Four miles north of downtown on Highway 89, this beautiful park allows access to Watson Lake and the boulders of the Granite Dells.

    Watson Woods is a 140-acre riparian preserve with hiking trails, interpretive signs and wildlife viewing. Take Highway 89 north, turn right on Prescott Lakes Parkway, cross the bridge, and take the first left onto Sundog Ranch Road. Parking is at the Peavine Trail head.

    This park is an off-leash park for dogs over four-months old that are wearing license tags and have been properly inoculated. Owners will be held responsible for any damage or injuries caused by their dogs. The obstacle course for the park can be seen in the photo to the right.

    3181 Willow Creek Road. Located just north of the junction of Willow Lake and Willow Creek roads. The dog park offers the following amenities:
    • Shade ramada
    • Benches
    • Tables
    • Walking path around fence line
    • Small dog area for dogs under 14 pounds
    • Water fountains for people and dog
    Dog Park Rules
    • Always keep your eye on your dog. Mischief can happen quickly
    • Never leave your dog unattended
    • Always clean up after your dog. Bag and dispose of pet waste in the containers provided
    • Never bring a dog in heat to the dog park
    • Don’t bring a dog with contagious conditions or illnesses to the park. Make sure inoculations are up to date
    • Always fill in any holes your dog digs
    • Never let toddlers or small children run or chase dogs in the fenced area
    • Please keep children under close supervision, within arm’s reach
    • Always be aware of what is going on around you
    • If your dog becomes aggressive, leash him and remove him immediately
    • Never bring rawhide chews or food into the fenced area
    • Always keep your dog on a leash outside the fenced area of the Dog Park
    • Remove your dog’s leash in the staging area before entering the Dog Park

* Off-Season hours are from the Tuesday after Labor Day through the Friday before Memorial Day.

** Summer hours are from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.

Prescott City Park Rules

Prescott Parks are for everyone! For the health and safety of all, please remember:

  • Dogs must be on a leash at all City Parks except the dog park. Please clean up after your pet.
  • Fires are allowed in stoves or barbecues only.
  • Motorized vehicles must stay on maintained roadways. Obey all speed limits and watch for children at play!
  • Littering is crime punishable with a maximum $2500 fine in the City of Prescott.
  • Parks generally close at 10 p.m. Overnight camping is available at Watson Lake Park during the summer season.
  • A permit may be required for beer consumption in some parks (see the Malt Beverage Permit below).
  • City trails are for hikers, runners, bicyclists, and equestrian use, unless otherwise noted.
